James Anthony Patrick "Jimmy" Carr, Jr. (born 15 September 1972) is an English comedian, author, actor and presenter of radio and television, known for his deadpan, satirical and often very dark humour. Carr's comedy career began in 2002. After becoming an established act on the stand-up circuit, he appeared in a number of Channel 4 television shows in 2005, most notably as the host of the hit panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats. As well as his television work and stand-up routines, Carr has also enjoyed success on the radio and as a writer.
